With just over a mile of LHB, Wiggaton has long provided good brown trout fishing and, at times, good numbers of grayling. There is a good head of trout around the 10” mark, although it has produced monster 2lb-ers in the past. The beat has several deep corner pools and fishy spots, and usually benefits from a good mayfly hatch. Wading is recommended, and the use of a wading staff is advised. 2019 welcomed a cracking brownie of 17” along with a good number of Grayling. This beat has recently benefitted from habitat management on the lower section and some access creation in the mid-section.

From Launceston take the B3254 north. As you leave the town turn left to Egloskerry. Follow this road through Egloskerry and down to Canworthy Water. At the T Junction turn right. Follow the road over the river and round to the right. Start up the hill and after 100m there is a gateway on your right next to a rough verge. Some anglers park here and go through the gate and walk along and then down to the top of the beat. Alternatively, some parking is available at the upstream end of the beat where the Public Footpath meets the road. The top of the beat can be accessed via the Public Footpath.
