This beat is in a lovely wide valley with lots of water for several anglers. Like the other Carey beat it is best suited to a shorter fly rod 7-8ft, 3-4 wt.

Directions & access

From Launceston take the A388 to Liftondown. Take the left turn signed Holsworthy. At the next T junction turn left to Holsworthy. Continue straight on and you will drop down a steep hill and cross over the River Carey at Heale Bridge. After the bridge, go through the first gateway on the right. Follow the track round to the right and park between the old railway embankments, making sure you leave room for passing vehicles. The box is on the oak tree to the left.
