Beat 26: Lower Sydenham

About Beat 26: Lower Sydenham

With just under 2Km of double bank, Lower Sydenham is an extensive beat set in the superb Elizabethan Estate surroundings with 12 good pools and many nice runs for both fly fishing and spinning. There is a chance of a salmon from mid-May given adequate water and it is best fished as the river clears after a spate. Sea trout from late June and best fished for at dawn/dusk with a run of larger fish from mid-April, which can provide great day time sport. 2019 sees the extensive beat divided in two to enable a little more exclusivity on such a popular beat. Please park in the Lower Sydenham parking spaces to let others know which beat you are fishing.
