Set amidst the Duchy’s Dartmoor Estate is an impressive network of some of Britain’s most beautiful rivers, extending to some 26 miles and comprising much of the East and West Dart and their tributaries, the Blackabrook, Cowsic, Cherrybrook, Stannon Brook, Wallabrook and Swincombe. This is a trout day ticket only. Information & restrictions

All sections of the East and West Dart, including tributaries such as; Wallabrook, Stannonbrook, Blackabrook, Cherrybrook, Cowsic and Swincombe upstream of Dartmeet are fishable, the only sections within the Duchy estate which are unfishable are shown on the map below as Purple lines. Please follow the countryside code and the Dartmoor National Park Byelaws at all times. dartmoor-npa.gov.uk Parts of Dartmoor that form areas of the fishery are used for military exercise; these are shown on O.S. Explorer OL28. Full information is available at gov.uk/government/publications/dartmoor-firing-programme When wading great care should be taken at all times, use suitable soles (try and avoid felted soles as they have the potential to trap invasive species), carry a wading stick and wear a lifejacket. Access to some areas can require considerable walking and the fishing can be physically demanding. Take a map (OS Explorer OL28), obtain local knowledge from other anglers/ guides, watch the weather and tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back. Do not rely on there being mobile phone signal, often there will be no signal.

We recommend picking up a map when you scan in which are provided free of charge and will detail the extent of the Duchy estate and give detail on good pools and parking. Areas with good parking and accessibility include, Carpark at Two bridges, this gives easy access to the West Dart and lower Blackabrook. Carpark along B3357 at the Lower Cherrybrook Bridge, easy access to Cherrybrook and West Dart. Carpark along B3212 at the Upper Cherrybrook Bridge, easy access to the Cherrybrook. Carpark at Hexworthy Bridge, easy access to the largest parts of the West Dart. Carpark at Dartmeet, easy access to the largest sections of the East and West Dart. Carpark at Bellever, Easy access to the East Dart. Carpark at Postbridge Clapper Bridge, Easy access to East Dart .
