Beat 52: Treraven

Recommended Salmon fly tackle – A 7-9wt single handed set up or light double hander will suite this water best for Salmon. A 6wt for Sea trout & Mullet fishing and a 5-7wt would be ideal for the larger browns. 100% Catch and release of any rod caught live or dead salmon from the River Camel catchment (including River Allen). Catch and release is allowed with fish returned immediately with least possible injury. This beat is strictly Catch and release on all species. Fly fishing is the only method permitted. Sorry, no Dogs allowed, due to grazing livestock. Please bring a long handled net to this Beat as some of the banks are high and slippery. Both Brown and Sea trout can be fished from 1st May - 30th September. Salmon and Mullet can be fished from 1st May - 15 December. From Bodmin, head North/East along the A398, continue on this road for 5 miles. Take a left turn signposted “Wadebridge/Egloshayle”. Continue along this road then take the 1st exit off the roundabout. Travel over the bridge and take the 1st exit off the next roundabout onto The Platt. Travel along the road then take the 1st exit off the roundabout onto Jubilee Rd. Then take the 2nd right turn onto Southern Way, drive to the end of the road, Free parking available on the Left.
