Beat 23: Treburtle

About Beat 23: Treburtle

CLOSED TEMPORARILY DUE TO COVID-19 This is an extensive beat, spread over 3.2 Km of RHB, offering good brown trout and grayling water which will allow several anglers to enjoy a full day of wild fishing together and has been known as a good place to spot an otter. Trout season runs from 15 March to 30 September and Grayling 16 June to 31 October. Please take extra care when wading as there are some deep pools. Previously it has not been easy to access the beat, however, there is now a second access point which makes it a lot easier, please see the map below. The Ottery is a brushy stream in this location but there’s loads of good water and lots of brown trout once you get to know it. Lightly fished in 2017 but still recorded plenty of brownies and a few grayling.
